I just got back from a forty hour course in
Man Tracking without Dogs
Hosted by Cindy and Vince Hester,
LETS International
in Thomaston, Georgia
I met a lot of good people dedicated to learning and applying as much contributory knowledge to this search stuff as possible.
It was a humbling experience to learn how much I could have been helping my dog. Rather than placing all the "responsibility" on his nose - I can now use my eyes.
A few "pranksters" in the group - but no one argued when it was decided that
Mr. Billy Smith needed his own tent site
.
We learned to LOOK for anything out of place
When the "pranking" went too far - "The Big Dog" sent the culprit to cool off
in a Georgia mud puddle - huh Otis?
We were all proud of the knowledge we were picking up and how well it pointed out the help we will be to our dogs in the future -
some of course showed more pride than others.
- Me and the Dog -
now we can both think
Huh Vince?
Thanks to you and Cindy both for a great learning experience
As good as we were doing picking up signs in
Broad Daylight
- a night felony search was planned as our "final".
The rules were pretty easy - first mistake and we would be shot by a paint gun (frightening thought / and we didn't even know about the fireworks). If one person gets shot (looses) we all loose - plus fail the final (another scary thought). These guys play for real.
