I just returned from the
L.E.T.S.
Second
Annual International Seminar for
Tracking and Cadaver Recovery
in Monterrey Mexico
and hosted by
Rescate Canino Mexicano A.C.
I didn't think it possible but this one was better than
last year
. A huge Florida "Group Hug" to everyone there and especially to our support group who worked tirelessly for us.
The welcoming was wonderful and the Ceremony of the Salt was observed, bringing tears to more than my eyes. A special acknowledgement to our America for her wounds and loss suffered on 9-11 was included this year. Thank you to our Southern Friends and Neighbors.
Billy and I each had our own interpreter and they were excellent. Chewy (Billy's interpreter) had taught english for years and kept up with Billy pretty darn well. Mine was Ellen from Scotland, traveled quite a bit - speaks five languages and tons-o-fun. Billy thought she was so cute (with that Scottish accent don't you just know) that he didn't even tell us not to have a good time - so we did - especially the afternoon and evening she and Fernando kidnapped me (kicking and screaming) and took me on a SHOPPING TRIP that lasted well into the evening.
From day one Billy split the group into "newbees" and "advanced". Billy took the advanced class and began practical application excercises and evaluation of progress. I took the newbees (about 15 teams) and we begin short runaways and scratch box testing to see where they all were. I have to say it started off a little grim.
But before we were finished they were scratching like "lil rat terrier wannabes" oh yes - and the dogs showed remarkable progress also.
Between the support and the sponsors we had everything we needed to make this "the best trip"
We didn't have any Miller time there
But we sure had Corona Time.
